A new skill I’ve had to learn since starting work as an anchor: live interviewing.
I must admit the first time (or two) that I did it I was very nervous. I have no problem interviewing, but when it’s live your questions must sound intelligent and be well-phrased, you don’t want to have to clarify, and you certainly don’t want to be caught off-guard. Obviously these are principles for any interview, but when you go live suddenly the potential pitfalls multiply. And then, there’s time management and attempting to “manage” the interviewee through unspoken cues.
This is a live, three and a half minute interview with one of Wyoming’s Senator John Barrasso.
